What was the highlight of Al Waleed Tower Hotel
We don't regret our choice!
1. We booked a quad room for two nights. It was small and cozy. Amenities provided included toiletries, a kettle, cups, glasses, a few free tea bags, free water, a copy of the Quran and a prayer mat. The room had a decent sized TV screen. Wifi strength was very good. 2. The in-house cafeteria offers everything. We didn't buy but the price list showed decent rates. 3. There is a free Haram shuttle service about a 5-min walk from the hotel, but please note that that last stop (before the Haram) still leaves you with a 10-15 minute walk to the mosque. In case you want a taxi right outside the hotel, it will cost you somewhere between 10-20 Saudi Riyals (they always start high). Opt for this if you don't want to walk. 4. Not many restaurants nearby and a couple of shops for your daily needs can be found. Summary: Let's be honest, no one comes to stay in their rooms all the time when they come for Umrah. The purpose is to spend as much time at the Haram as possible. You do, however, want to go back to relax, and Al Waleed Tower Hotel offers you that for a very (very) decent price. We don't regret our choice.
1. Room service was unfortunately inexistent. We called them on three different occasions, but no one ever came. 2. There was no iron for ironing clothes (if needed). 3. Bathroom exhaust was bad. 4. Bathroom a bit small for a quad room size.
